Small but well established office of entrepreneurial US firm that has been based in the region for a number of years and run by ex-pat lawyers who have decades of experience working in the Middle East and other emerging markets seeks senior associate or junior partner with broad corporate experience. The firm handles cross border M&A including a fair amount of emerging markets work. Deals vary in size and complexity and recent matters handled include a JV for a client with a Saudi entity, acquisition of drilling rigs for an exploration company, distressed debt on the bondholder side, dual NASDAQ/DIFX listings, listing of companies and numerous capital market transactions. It would therefore suit lawyers who are keen to take on a broad range of transactions from North Africa to Central Asia and London and Mumbai with an expectation that their lawyers will become ‘trusted advisers’ to their clients as well as providing quality legal advice.
Candidates will be English qualified and those who have practised in the region would be preferred although those who have handled Middle East deals from London and travelled to the region with reason for wanting to go there would be considered. The firm has the headroom in Dubai to expand at junior partner level and there is capacity to work the firm’s client matters whilst developing own connections as well.
